On-Campus Financial Education Programs
Financial wellness has become a critical concern across higher education, with national research showing a significant gap between financial awareness and effective planning. According to a recent TIAA Financial Wellness Survey, while 7 in 10 Americans report having a budget, only 25 percent follow a detailed one. Additionally, just 38 percent have a written financial plan, and only 16 percent of those plans are created with the help of a financial professional. As a result, only 22 percent of employees rate their financial wellness highly, while financial stress affects nearly 80 percent of employees and negatively impacts focus, productivity, and overall well-being.
Collegiate Financial Group’s On-Campus Financial Education Program was designed to address these challenges through clear, practical, and accessible education tailored specifically for higher education employees. Our advisors come on campus to deliver in-person financial education workshops. We partner with colleges and universities to provide independent financial education and guidance resources for university administrators, faculty, athletics, and staff. As authorized advisors with extensive experience working alongside HR and benefits teams, we help employees understand university-sponsored retirement programs such as TIAA, as well as state and institutional plans, while serving as an objective third party that does not promote or favor any single provider.
Our programs cover essential topics including budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, insurance, and retirement planning, and is delivered through a layered education model during scheduled on-campus visits and throughout the year. All-staff presentations establish a strong foundation, followed by optional small-group workshops, confidential one-on-one meetings with licensed collegiate advisors, and ongoing webinars and self-paced learning resources. These opportunities allow employees to deepen their understanding, address benefit decisions and major life transitions, and continue building financial confidence throughout the year with professional guidance.
By taking on the complexity of financial education, retirement options, and benefit decisions, our programs reduce confusion and ease the burden on internal HR teams. Our On-Campus Financial Education Program represents a meaningful in-kind benefit that improves employee confidence, engagement, and long-term financial well-being across campus.
